Fast Company Leaves the other Sailboats in the Dust!

IMG_2328The fourth sailboat race of the Spring Series was held on 3/7/19 in a Northerly wind blowing about 15 knots. Fast Company had a great start, almost forcing Ozone over the starting line early until Ozone ducked down behind them. Three laps were held over 6 and a quarter miles. Fast Company kept extending their lead and never looked back. Kato and Ozone kept trading the second place position during the race. IMG_2367Bonjolea II had to do two 360 degree turns as a penalty when they fouled Papa Au who had the right of way on starboard tack when they crossed each other.

The results in the PHRF class had Fast Company in first place with a time of 1:07:33, Ozone was second at 1:09:33 and Papa Au was third at 1:10:04. In the Club Class Speedy was first on corrected time at 1:04:49, Iwa was second at 1:07:44 and Weatherly was third only 9 seconds behind at 1:07:53. IMG_2461After 4 races in the 6 race series, Fast Company leads with 6 points followed by Kato with 10 points and closely followed by Ozone with 11 points.

A delicious dinner of fish tacos was provided by Papa Au after the race.

The public is invited to watch the 5th Spring Series Race on Thursday 3/17/19 at the Nawiliwili Harbor Jetty area starting at 5 pm.
