2016 Racing Season Awards Ceremony

The NYC 2016 racing season officially finished with the Awards Ceremony and Party on November 17th. All the boat crews decorated their tables in a festive atmosphere including one with cellophane dolphin balloons in the air and party goers enjoyed a delicious pot luck dinner. I’d like to thank the boat owners, skippers, and crews for making the race season fun and enjoyable, and at the same time competitive and thrilling. Most races had excellent racing conditions with sunny skies and reliable trade winds blowing. Some races had rain squalls to add to the excitement while a few other races had a tug-and-barge come through. Then there was the dredging operation in March, but not even that put a crimp in the racing. A special thanks goes out to the Race Committee who did a fine job with race management on the mole, we could not have done it without you. The Awards Ceremony ended with the Best Decorated Boat Table Award going to Bonjolea II with their magnificent table settings, lights, and nautical theme.
