FAST COMPANY WINS EASILY

The first race of the Phil Tanner Memorial Series was held on 2/11/21 with light winds out of the East at 1-4 knots. Initially 2 courses were planned but in the light air the race committee shortened things to only course A. This was a good thing as even then the 2.11 mile race out to the lighthouse buoy, back to the G-11 buoy by the Coast Guard Station and then to the finish line took over an hour and 7 minutes for the leading boat Fast Company to finish.

Fast Company had a great start followed by Kato and Weatherly. At the pin end in the very light air Kato was able to force Ozone and Speedy to the wrong side of the pin so that they had to circle around and restart. Oh the pain!!!

The race positions pretty much stayed the same as at the start and Fast Company finished first followed by Kato in second and Weatherly in third. Time to pray for more wind!
