Fast Company Wins PHRF in Breezy Spring Shakedown Race #4

Breezy conditions greeted the 7 boats contending the 4th race in the NYC Spring Shakedown series and provided plenty of excitement for crews and spectators. The breeze brought out reefed mains, small jibs, and the heavy spinnakers. Speeds in the mid-teens and higher for the trimaran were experienced as the boats rounded the Ninini Point bouy and caught the waves rolling in from the channel. Papa’Au had excitement of their own with their spinnaker as they approached the inner harbor. Fast Company won the PHRF division, with Bonjolea II taking second. Speedy finished third in a close race with Ozone that was decided on the final windward leg. Trinity won the Club class with Coyote in second and Papa’Au in third. A wonderful meal hosted by the Ozone crew was enjoyed after the race.
